The out-of-hours medical services outside practice opening hours are provided by the PCT via Primecare.

6pm – 8am Monday to Thursday;
6pm Friday to 8am Monday and throughout Bank Holidays.

Patients requiring urgent medical care outside of GP surgery hours, should contact

Primecare 0845 603 3131.

Primecare cannot provide you with items such as a repeat prescriptions. Please make sure you have enough of your medication to last over evenings, weekends and holidays.

NHS Direct – 0845 4647

Patients requiring helpful information and advice on everyday problems should contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647.

This service is run by trained nursing staff and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, everyday of the year. This service can help you understand whether you need to see a doctor or not and can also give you helpful advice on the condition you are suffering from.

Emergency Care - 999

Only in emergency cases should you call 999. Patients with serious problems such as heavy blood loss, sharp chest pains and difficulty breathing etc… require immediate medical attention.

Dental Care - 0845 603 3131

For urgent dental care, the Cleveland Emergency Dental Service can inform which practices across Teesside currently have availability to treat patients in acute pain. Therefore the practices with the capacity to handle the emergency appointments may not necessarily be in the Cleveland area, but the service will inform you of the nearest one to your home at the time you ring. The service is contactable 24 hours a day on 0845 603 3131.
